I'm tearing into an Ipod touch 4th gen to replace the Home Flex Cable. I understand how to disassemble the unit, but i dont understand how the home flex cable mounts. It looks like it has 4 holes in the corners. Does it screw down? or pop onto some pins? Thanks.
**edit Remove the "What is" from the previous Statement/question I just posted plz tyvm I started to ask a different question and forgot to backspace it sorry about that
WHat is I have a Good Digitizer screen but the jack is f*cked off and I have a cracked Digitizer screen and the Actual digitizer (not the glass the little touch receptor in between the 2 pieces of glass that make up the digitizer) is still good Is there a way to remove the bad one from the good glass digitizer screen and take the one from the cracked one and put it in the good glass?
I replaced my digitizer but nothing moves when I glide my finger across to unlock it. What did I do wrong? Please respond ASAP!
@LoneWolf3061 i have an 1g ipod touch and for nothing in the world i would give it away
@LoneWolf3061 Correct, if your outer glass is scratched you will need to replace the touch screen digitizer. Our replacement digitizer are OEM parts, so they are higher quality than most aftermarket screens you will find on ebay.
@mecnics Yes, the same basic process works on the 1st generation, although there are a few differences. The mid frame on the 1st gen is different, as is the home button and home button flex. However, removing it from the touch screen will be the same process. We have a video specifically for the 1st generation you may find useful in our channel.
im confused .my 2nd gen itouch's screen has scratches all i need to get is the digitizer witch is just the glass replacement right? .and another question why do you charge so much than ebay, for ebay their digitizer's (glass) is like 7$.......your pricing doesnt matter .il pay 20$ but just a curiosity
does this method work on 1st gen
@SteveenChikitowx It would depend on what generation you have. If you have a 4th generation we suggest replacing the full screen assembly - as the screens are fused together and difficult to separate without causing damage. The process on the 4th Gen is quite a bit different than this video shown. This is for the 2nd and 3rd.
@Lasers102 Apple does provide this service, however they charge ridiculous amounts out of hope you will upgrade instead of repair.
@canverser Sadly no, the connections and flex cables are different.
Is there a service from apple to do it for us?
hi i have a question can i use an ipod touch 3g digitizer on a ipod touch 2g
Can I Put those Clip Back Together???
If I Have a White Digitizer Can I replace it???
(White Screen like 4th)
If I Have another Screen Digitizer (The first thing you Pull out)
(I don't know how to explain My Self)
With The safe Thingy you pulled Out what For me is The screen..
Can I put back That screen...
@RiceWillPwnYou Yes, the same process is used on the 3rd Generation.
Could I do this on my 3rd Gen 64 gb iTouch?
@tquinnathome1 No problem at all! Check out some new adhesive (pre cut) for your iTouch if the quick fix does not work. These are available at RepairsUniverse (dot) com. Good luck!
@pVVwMW2 No, the iPod Touch 4th is quite different than previous generations. Apple fused together the touch screen and LCD screen, making a single screen repair very difficult. Repair tools and replacement parts can be found at RepairsUniverse (dot) com.
@pop23652 Yes the process is nearly identical.
Out of curiousity us it still the same with the I touch 4th gen? Also where did you get the tools needed to fix it?
@RepairsUniverse Thanks a lot, I'll give that remedy a try, see if I can heat it and apply a little pressure. Cheers for getting back to me and responding, I'll be watching your channel.
is the same with iphone 3gs?
tnx
@tquinnathome1 Sometimes if the device is left in the sunlight or placed near a heat source the adhesive holding the screen in place can lose its stick and cause the screen to protrude a small bit. You can attempt to heat it quickly (15 - 30 seconds) with a heat gun or hair dryer and apply some pressure for a few minutes. May be a temp fix. Applying new adhesive would be a preferred fix.
