FLANK :: A Short Action Film! (Canon T2i)
Focus: If you only clicked this video for the action alone, you may not recognize almost anything at all, but skip to two:fifty five. (There is no action up till finally that position. Only discussions creating up the storyline.) Finally. It is below! The prolonged awaited, FLANK. Wait about! You have a concern? Nicely examine out the creating of: FLANK. In which I describe alot about myself and how i produced FLANK! www.youtube.com I have been working on this for about, the previous two months or so. It commenced out as just a small small action movie, but I wished to carry a minor bit much more of a storyline in. (To draw that line amongst "action video" and brief action film.) This was my first huge job/film to do. So there are some items I could've carried out far better I acknowledge... But I'm understanding, it is just about trial and error correct now. I would have to say I am nevertheless happy with the end result of the on-line video. I'm a 15 12 months old impartial movie maker (This was my 1st movie) And I have by no means ever taken any sort of film/editing class. (Or had any coaching for that matter) Youtube is my instructor.
This was shot completely on the Canon T2i. With the 18-55mm lens. Sorry if any of the dialog is challenging to hear... I used an lapel mic for all the dialog! I'm not really happy I had to use copyrighted audio (Linkin park's song - When they happen for me) but it was just too outstanding to not use. Complete shooting time: 12 hrs. Complete editing time: About 60 hours. I'd have to say my inspiration for this film, was definitely Freddiew and CorridorDigital. They ...

would you guys check out my action comedy video?
You guys should have added some blood holes.
hey can you give me some pointers on how you made this film ? I am 14 this year and I really wish to make a short action film too ...
dude this is so ballsy! I work with a t2i as well and for this being your first film, KEEP IT UP! This is insane!
Im also an aspiring filmmaker myself and i work with a t2i. Good editing! the only advise id give you is to dress the part a little more with the actors the main character was good throughout the whole video. I love the military kind of theme there always the most entertaining to watch
Dude this was sooo good! Really good effects and storyline..
Please if you get a sec could you check out our latest movie, we do similar stuff to this but as there are only two of us it is a little more amateur.. but brilliant film.
awesome
what music did you use at the begining scene?
That's cool! But the muzzle flashes could be better and it has an open end.
the muzzle flashes were not really good you should have color corrected them into the shot and added some brightness around the area of the shot its a little more work but it pays of in the end and one more thing is the sound effects used in this where just playing horrible they sound like they came from a video game.
But overall this was a very good film better than others iv seen it just ur effects that are a little unpleasing to the eye
Liked.
DOB 1981, trolololololololol.
In future videos watch your jump cuts (the computer scene)! Other than the dialogue being only on the right channel, it was pretty good. Good job guys
@EncoreFilmStudio Aren't we all.
wow!! that was really good, I really liked the slo mo. Thumbs up fer sure! We hav a bunch of vids that use adobe ae and action essentials. If you could check them out that would be awesome. Were just looking to get discovered. lol
@xxbluejay21 Yea, I know.
Unfortunately I made many more mistakes than just that... Which won't happen anymore.
u made the oh so common mistake of adding way too much blue to the image.
Does the audio really have to be on the left side?
Does the audio really have to be on the left side?
I was going to comment saying my only gripe was the sound (particularly speech being in only the left channel) but you used a cheap mono mic so I understand. You were 15? And you used the kit lens? Wow. What did you use for color correction and grading? You had to denoise the low light scenes a lot huh? Not the T2i's strongest point but you made it look awesome. Nice pacing, and choice of music. Mad props dude, I'm jealous xD
Good job Team
Liked it

@dgatan
Mostly 24p for the bulk of it. The high speed shots were done with a different camera. Casio EX-F1. For the motion graphics I used Apple Motion.
@Aryanpars
I love shooting at SFU. Great architecture
Thanks
@MostlyGeek
Heya, depends on what type of work you'll be doing with the t2i. If you're shooting a lot of portrait photography I'd at least get something like a 50mm prime (1.8 or 1.4 if you have the money). If you're shooting wildlife or sports from far away get a zoom lens that goes up to 200mm or something close. Personally, I like to have 3 lenses available whenever I'm shooting action scenes. A 50mm prime, a zoom with 18-55mm, and a wide lens in the area of 10-20mm. Hope that helps!
Really Amazing Oo
I'm planing to purchase my first DSLR it's going to be T2i, can someone explain to me how to pick lens?
Amazing job! Not just by the performers but by the director as well. That took serious talent!
lol i was looking up fims shot with Canon 550D/600D and came up with this. I was amazed to see a such a high quality video shot at my school, SFU.
Can't stop watching!
Great video, guys! awesome moves!
WOW what great action! I bet this was inspired by a bunch of the great Jackie Chan and Jet Li movies... I love those! I just saw "Films of Fury" a little while ago and was so excited when it came out on demand because it has some really cool action scenes and clips from some of the best martial arts movies! bitly .com/uBGPir
You guys are sick, your moves and camera work is nice.

This was dope! I'm a student filmmaker as well and about to purchase a T2i, and this video is very inspiring! Subscribing...
@mcHuckFinn 18-55mm 3.5-5.6 and 50mm 1.8
@RobTazor haha having good performers is what really sells a fight scene
@ectobuilder nah the high speed stuff was Casio EX-F1
Mind blowing.
Clean stuff! Great work! What lenses do you use?
Excellent video!!! What fps did you shoot this in? You got some really smooth slow mos in there..also, what program did you use to create the animation in the beginning?
@hybridmovement the fight scenes look really realistic ;D how did you film them?
